Photography Business Mentoring

As a business woman turned professional photographer, I admit that the start of my business was "easy." At least the business side of it. It was my groove, and after staying at home with my kiddos for a year and a half, I had missed being a part of a business so much. Fast forward to today, I have so many questions from others about what I did when I started my photography business or various other aspects of photography.  I know my passion is inspiring others, photography and business (in no particular order), so what better than to combine all three into one mentoring session!

I am an open-book.  I will share with you what did and didn’t work when starting my business, and believe me, there are a lot of "what didn't work!" We will talk about your legal set up (taxes, EIN, etc), your workflow, branding, marketing, the list goes on. Anything photography business related I am all yours! Really though, its an open discussion, and I don't hold anything back! If you're local,  you can even come on a shoot with me if that will help get an idea of how I handle clients and watch my workflow afterward.  By no means am I claiming to be the "best" photographer around, I just know what works (and doesn't work) for me, and I would love to help you figure out those kinks in your business, too. Whether you are a new photographer, transitioning your business and brand in a different direction, or an experienced photographer that just needs some help with their business, I'm your girl!  I spent endless hours figuring out everything and I would be happy to give you a jump start with the knowledge of what worked (and didn't work) for me.

Before:

Once you book your one on one mentoring session, I will begin to do a thorough review on your business. This includes your website, your social media presence, other photographers in your geographical area, etc. From there I will brainstorm ideas of areas we should focus on during our time together. Once I have a list of areas of opportunity put together, I will send you over an email so you can review the topics I think need attention. From there you can make your own list. Feel free to use all of my ideas, some of them or none of them. This is your mentoring session and I want you to get exactly what you want/need out of it.

During:

The actual one on one mentoring session is 2 hours. This can be done either in person, over the phone or via Skype. We live in the great state of Colorado, and have plenty of guest rooms, in case you want to make a vacation out of it! ;) In this time I am an open book. My business experience and strategies are all yours! I will show you(or discuss) my workflow from start to finish with clients. During this time we can also talk other things other than only business. If you want tips on what lens to buy next, or what genre of photography I think is the best fit for you, anything is game during our time together. I promise it will be fun!

After:

After our time together is complete we will finalize everything by making a business plan for your photography business. This is in addition to the 2 hour discussion. Don't worry, I don't expect you to remember everything, I will send you a PDF file with a lot of notes and reminders from our time together. I will also attach some helpful tools, contracts, spreadsheets, etc that will continue to help you in the future.  Everyone that completes a one on one photography business mentoring session receives support from there on out. You can email me or call me anytime you want with questions. I will be there to help!
